This project was created by Gilbert Guerrero and Kathleen Quillian for Pond gallery with the intention of creating a secondary "experience" map of the Shine! SF Art Walk event. The artists request your participation and seek your enjoyment.

The map to your right is an interactive graphical representation of actual objects which have been placed, hidden, stashed and stowed in trees, bushes, nooks, crannies, and in some cases just hung out in the open by a string in San Francisco's Mission District.

Instructions

1) Choose a location. Use the data-map navigator to choose a location by clicking one of the tiles. Each tile loads a section of a map of the Mission District in San Francisco. (View the full map here.)

2) Pick a boo pak. On each section of the map you'll see icons indicating where boo paks have been left in the Mission. Click the name of a boo pak. The boo pak viewer will load on the right side of the screen showing what's in it and a picture.

3) Hunt! Get out on the street, hit those galleries during the Shine! art crawl and keep your eyes peeled for boo paks!!!

If you found a boo pak...

If you found a boo pak, click the link "Did you find this boo pak?" underneath the boo pak viewer. On the form which pops up, check the box next to "I found it!" Fill in your name and email address. And fill in the comments box to share your experience of finding it.

"This Way Please: Tours of the Everyday" at Pond gallery, 324 14th Street, San Francisco runs from November 20 through December 2004, in conjunction with "Shine! San Francisco Art Walk", Saturday & Sunday, November 20th & 21st.

Join the artists at Pond on November 20, 2004, 7-9pm, and join us at the after party at The Lab, 2948 16th Street, from 9-11pm!
